Testimonial of David Vieira Da Silva

"Chad Robo is the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner in his weight class that I have ever grappled with. That is why I decided to give him his Black Belt that was long overdue and welcomed him into the Gracie Barra family not only as a friend but as a brother, and I believe that he will have a brilliant future as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt competitor and as a Mixed Martial Arts fighter.".

~ David Vieira Da Silva, Gracie Barra Black Belt, and Multiple Time World BJJ Champion

Testimonial of Ryan Stickney

"I have been friends with Chad "Robo" and his family for several years now. One thing that I learned about him early on was his passion for martial arts. In our law enforcement positions together, we would train for the undeniable truth that in any law enforcement job, confrontation with criminals will happen. Being prepared physically and mentally keeps us alive. Chad made a comment to me once that really struck a nerve...."Don't be a participant in your own murder". That may sound scary to many, but its good advice. Right? You don't have to be a cop to practice this mindset. Stay trained to protect yourself and stay trained to be healthy. MMA also gives a sense of achievement and confidence that few understand and you get to start feeling that confidence after your first class. The greatest aspect of Gracie Barra The Woodlands is the people who train there. If your goal is to stay in shape, learn self defense and become acquainted with some of the finest people from The Woodlands and around the world, this is the gym for you".

Testimonial of Mike Malone

My 2 boys,Mason and Matt, love mixed martial arts and we wanted to get involved with an academy, specifically for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We almost signed with another gym, but something inside told me to wait. Then Chad Robichaux and his family opened Gracie Barra-The Woodlands. After speaking briefly with Chad about his academy, I elected to sign up my family.

As a police officer, I'm skeptical of people and their words. As a father, I trust a select few to influence my sons in any way. Since my sons have trained under Chad, both of them have won and placed in numerous tournaments, their self-confidence has grown dramatically, and they are actually doing better in their studies (at school).

I have watched Chad teach numerous classes and have participated in some classes. There is no denying his credentials in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and mixed martial arts. Chad always trains with many of the elite grapplers of the world both for personal growth and to pass on his knowledge to his students.

As good as his credentials are as a mixed martial artist, Chad is an even better human being. Chad is a former U.S. Marine and Federal Agent. As me being a former soldier in the U.S. Army and currently a police officer in Houston, I would feel comfortable in trusting Chad with my life in the battlefield and/or the streets.

Most importantly, Chad is a Christian, a husband, and a father. I entrust Chad with the distinct honor to influence my sons' lives. Chad is a great friend and I am honored to know him.

Testimonial of Nancy

"Connor is learning so much, and he loves to come and train! Thank you so much for having a gym that focuses on learning technique and is not a 'black belt' ego academy! We have looked for a long time to find a place that was serious about teaching skills, not just padding parent’s egos".

~ Nancy – Mother of Connor, Youth BJJ Student

Testimonial of Brian

"As a Federal Law Enforcement Officer, I wanted to find a place where I could build upon my law enforcement training as it related to the art of hand to hand combat, and I have found that at Gracie Barra/The Woodlands. Their world class level of BJJ instruction has given me the peace of mind in knowing that I can not only survive...but attack and win from positions that would induce panic in most people. I would encourage anyone employed in the field of law enforcement or first response to include GB/The Woodlands as part of their on-going professional development".

Testimonial of Roman 'Romo' Anderson

"There are many different factors in choosing the right school or academy. Chad Robichaux's message is not one of complicated rules and strategies. It is borne from action and drive guided by discipline, adaptability and perseverance. It is designed and implemented to combat stagnation, complacency and mediocrity - in the gym , on the mat and in life. Chad is tireless in his faith and commitment. He possesses a compassion and consideration for helping each and every student to develop their skills technically and physically. Physical Fitness, Mental Attitude and High Ethics are the stalwarts of his programs and philosophy. I firmly believe that by becoming a member of the (family/academy) at (Gracie Barra The Woodlands) and being exposed to Chad as a coach, a father, a husband, a teammate - you will become a better person for it. A better person who will grow with the (Gracie Barra TW Family) and prosper as it moves on to bigger and greater challenges. It is and has been a privilege to coach with and be coached by him. It is an honor to be his teammate and even more so his friend".

"Honor, Perseverance, Spirit and Heart"

Testimonial of Brian Lisenby

"I have been training at Gracie Barra/The Woodlands for over a year now. Not only did I find a place where the elite level of instruction has taken my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and personal fitness to a new level, I found a place where I am treated like family. The level of respect shared amongst all students and instructors is immeasurable, and it is for this reason that I know I am fortunate to be able to train at GB of The Woodlands".

Testimonial of Renee Nolte

"Chad Robichaux, a school owner with sincere focus on his community! I was formally introduced to Chad at a fight last year where our schools came together as one and he volunteered to corner my son's match. I could see by the way he focused his attention on my son he had a passion for being there right with him. Although Chad's knowledge and skill of Martial Arts is completely awesome in itself, it seems that it takes a back seat to the people he is around, as he truly has a drive to help others be there very best. Since that event Chad has come to my school and trained some of my students and staff. His lessons were right on with attention to detail, simplicity and application. I am not just impressed, I am thankful for his professionalism and courtesy. Chad continues to open doors to gaining knowledge and perspectives and I appreciate all he has done for University of Sidekicks, its fighters, my staff, and my students and you will agree he is a blessing to have in the community".

~ Renee Nolte, Chief Instructor & Multi-School Owner, University of Sidekicks
