Rules

The rules of Mixed Martial Arts vary slightly from organization to organization, because the combat sport allows each fighting organization to create its own unique rules. However, each sport competition needs to comply with the basic rules of the athletic commission of the state in which the event is being conducted. Weight class is one of the basic Mixed Martial Art rule. Your opponent needs to have the weight equivalent to yours, this can be known as a weight category. If you do not make weight for a match, you may be disqualified or fined by the promotion. You are not allowed to do some activities while practising MMA or taking part in a competition. Groin attacks are prohibited in MMA. You are not allowed strike the back of the head or the spine of the opponent. Head butts and knees to the head on a grounded opponent are not allowed. Biting, hair pulling and fish hooking are some of the activities that are not permitted in MMA.

There are some approved ways to end a Mixed Martial Art fight. If the fight lasts the entire rounds, the judges can decide the result. If any of the participants make an illegal move, they will receive three warnings. After three warnings, they will be disqualified. One of the participants can announce a forfeit before the competition ends, if he is injured. If both the participants violate the sport rules or if a fighter is injured by an illegal action made unintentionally by the opponent, the event will be declared as no contest. Some fighters get frustrated at these decisions and some have been known to lash out and scream and shout. But some moves are illegal and the fighter knows that they can not do them on their opponent. This is a bad representation of the sport and shows no respect for their opponent or referee.
